The 36th EFFoST International Conference 2022 was hosted by University College Dublin and supported by an independent scientific committee. EFFoST2022 was held in the city of Dublin, Ireland from 7-9 November 2022.

Healthy and sustainable food systems must be achieved as a matter of urgency to improve human health and the health of the planet. Ensuring that healthy eating equates to sustainable eating requires the collaboration of many stakeholders across the food chain. EFFoST 2022 aims to assemble a range of experts to articulate the challenges and advance our knowledge of how to produce and process healthy sustainable foods and mobilise citizens to make sustainable dietary choices.

There was a special session about AquaBioProFit project "Aquaculture and sidestream proteins and bioactives as ingredients for nutritional supplements."

During this special session, Tone Aspevik, Sije Steinsholm, Tone-Kari Østbye, Min Wang, Christos Tsatsanis, Zoi Georgiou, Léo STACCIOLI & Beatriz Cassuriaga Dias gave updates on the latest developments and they discuss the challenges and the environmental and socioeconomic considerations within the AQUABIOPROFIT project.
